1. I don't know where to start 

The question like "where to start" can be a big threshold to overcome. If you really want to start, start from what is closest to you. Start travelling the nearby locations and if you feel like traveling more then start increasing your radius stepping onto the new locations.

2. Travelling solo costs a little higher

When out on roads, all on his own one starts feeling lonely. Lonely as he never felt before. But when he looks around, he feels just the opposite of loneliness. All around are strangers but he himself is also a stranger in the crowd. He feels that crowd to be the family of strangers. A family that has fight among its members, that has love for each other and the bonding to help each others. The family of strangers is very strange actually.

Nobody knows us, we know nobody, nobody cares about us, we don't care for anybody. But even then we all are connected. This is how travelers who seems reclusive are the most social ones. A traveler is connected to a totally different culture. He sometimes gets himself connected to nature, sometimes to metro crowd and sometimes to technically backwards.

Mountains are very similar with us, The Humans. I found this thought coming to my mind while coming from the place, Mcleodganj. They are similar in a way that farther ones are the older ones. More older one you look at, more peaceful it gets. More higher you want to reach, more it needs to be faced. Older ones having a white color over their head as grey humans possess a grey color. Older one holding all the young peaks together in their wide arm span. So does the humans.

Few days back I was talking to my girlfriend about where to go together. I insisted on hill station as first place but she said no to hill station. And when I asked why, she said hill station is no fun. I thought for a while and started giving her points, on how one can enjoy hill stations. You might get the same issue with your girl, so here are few tips that might help you. (mine was convinced :D)

Don't pre book your hotels

Don't ever expect fun, if your hotels are already been booked. Book them straightly from the reception table when you're standing at one. And same applies to food too. You might think of having good and costly dinner at your desired destination but don't rely only over that. Having it once or twice is okay, but try finding out local food to know their taste and culture.

Always buy miniatures

By miniatures I don't mean the miniatures of your booze. I mean the miniature statues that are generally sold by vendors. Don't bother about carrying them, they are meant to be easily carried and hence are small in size. Don't buy branded apparels for gifting others but simply buy something relating the memories of that place.

India Gate, a name given to the monument that stands memorial for the uncountable soldiers died during the period of 1914-1921. Even though it is a war memorial, it evokes the great architecture of triumphal arch. No doubt, India Gate is related to patriotism and a serious issue like war. But with the time, the patriotism of people has mixed up with fun and the mixture is quite a good change. At present, India Gate is the most known place for family picnics and for normal hangouts.
